i actually chose that image because of the shape in the center. because the rest of the painting has so much going on, i saw it as a welcome place for the eye to rest. now that i look at it again, i see your point in it being problematic right n the center like that-a little off center to the right would be better.
I appreciate the pale shape positioned right smack in the middle. It is a challenge and demands consideration despite all that is going on behind and around the shape. I say, Don't fear the middle!
These painting exude energy and a delight in the activity of painting. You do a great job of finding and supporting excellent work.
ReplyDeletethank, terry! glad you like the work and the blog. thanks for visiting and commenting!
ReplyDeleteLovely images...but the top one
ReplyDeletestruck me as problematic because
of the large pale shape in the
middle.
Considering the markmaking and
color in the rest of the image,
that "problem" shape might be
re-considered and adjusted.

ReplyDeleteNow that I look at it again, the
ReplyDeletepale shape is redeemed a bit by
those lines/drips of paint...
I love the gestural drawing in your compositions.
ReplyDeleteLines, shapes, textures and colors participate in a wild dance.
