There are alot of illusionistic things that happen in these canvases that are camouflaged by the fact that they are hiding behind, or that they are built by, brushstrokes. I want the paintings to look slapdash in a way - to the extent that people who are looking at them are not even aware of why they are drawn into them or why they are fascinated.
